In 2010, iCANny co-founded iCLEAN with the College for Nanoscale Science and Engineering (CNSE). iClean (Incubators for Collaborating & Leveraging Energy and Nanotechnology), was recognized by NYSERDA (New York State Energy Research Development Authority) and as one of six incubators and accelerators specializing in accelerating and commercializing emerging New York State energy enterprises and technologies. The iCLEAN incubator assists Companies in the development of energy focused business plans, marketing strategies, technology roadmaps, prototype development and deployment, and plays a role in funding and commercialization. iCLEAN formally links the Capital Region’s academic and research prowess and the Lower Hudson Valley’s (iCANny) expertise in business development and commercialization.
BioInc is an incubator focused on bio-med, bio-pharma and medical device research.
New York Medical College teamed with iCANny to assist in launching the BioInc incubator. Subsequently, BioInc and iCANny were awarded the designation of Innovation Hot Spot by Empire State Development. As an Innovation Hot Spot, BioInc and iCANny can offer tax credits to incubator companies located anywhere in the greater Hudson Valley.
Mount Saint Mary College and iCANny successfully submitted an application to Empire State Development Company to become a designated StartUpNY location. StartUpNY is a program that offers tax incentives to company either relocating or expanding in New York State.
In 2013, iCANny was awarded the designation as a New York State Certified Business Incubator by Empire State Development Corporation. iCANny is one of only 10 incubators throughout the state who have achieved this designation. As a Certified Business Incubator, iCANny is charged with supporting the development, commercialization and education of entrepreneurs and early stage enterprises.
