iCANny is one of only 10 incubators throughout the state who have achieved this designation. As a Certified Business Incubator, iCANny is charged with supporting the development, commercialization and education of entrepreneurs and early stage enterprises.
In 2013, iCANny, through the Consolidate Funding Application (CFA) process, was selected to represent the Mid-Hudson Valley Region as an Empire State Development Certified Business Incubator. As ESD migrated to become part of NYSTAR, this designation was successfully renewed through the CFA process in 2017 for an additional five year period.
The iCANny Managing Director (Les Neumann) has served on the Advisory Board of the Computer and Mathematics Department and the Cloud Computing and Analytics Center (CCAC) at Marist College since 2006 (its inception). In 2013, Marist, through a successful CFA submission, has been charged with the offering of CCAC services, at reduced costs, to assist entrepreneurs and commercial entities within the Mid-Hudson Region.
Les Neumann is a founding member of the New York State Business Incubator Association. Les was also called upon to help launch both theHudson Valley Startup Fund and the Westchester Angels. Les also serves as a facilitator and moderator for the Wall Street Green Summit and the NYC based TechConnect cleantech networking and education group.
In 2010, iCANny co-founded iCLEAN with the College for Nanoscale Science and Engineering (CNSE). iClean (Incubators for Collaborating & Leveraging Energy and Nanotechnology), was recognized by NYSERDA (New York State Energy Research Development Authority) and as one of six incubators and accelerators specializing in accelerating and commercializing emerging New York State energy enterprises and technologies.
